1970s Beged-Or Blue Suede Coat

During the 70s, the Israeli leather house, Beged-Or, banged out some of the best hides to ever hang on a body. The quality of their leather and suede was unsurpassed. This was not the stuff you bought at 5-7-9 Shops and Casual Corner at the mall.  No, Beged-Or coats were for the Big Girls - meaning, women who could afford to buy the very best. This dusky grey blue suede coat is slim fitting and sexy, single breasted with five grey buttons that stop at about crotch level, and a butt-high vent in the rear.  Belted at the waist and wrists, it also has a slanted welt pocket at each hip and is lined in cornflower blue acetate. Made in Israel, the bust measures 35", waist 32",  hip 36", shoulder 13", sleeve 22", length 44". Belt is1.5" wide by 53". Except for a 4" long light colored discoloration at the left side hip (shown in last photo), some color variation and the fact that the edges of the sleeve and hem are a little stiff with age, its in otherwise excellent condition. $245
