1960s Beged-Or Mottled Leather Coat

Beged-Or was one of the finest leather houses in the 1960s and 1970s, turning out coats and jackets that well made - and expensive. Long before 'distressed' was trendy, they were doing the most interesting things with suede and leather, and this is a fabulous example of that kind of work.  The leather is dyed to a mottled tortoiseshell, and is cut in a double breasted style with a banded cuff, and flapped pockets at the hip. Princess seamed and contrast stitched in black, the coat is  amazingly modern looking yet unique and thoroughly vintage. Bust 36", hip 38", shoulder 15", sleeve 22", length 37". Made in Israel, it is lined in bronze acetate and in excellent condition. $315
