1990s Pamela Dennis 'Mermaid' Gown

We're not much for watching televised Hollywood awards shows, however, there are a few dresses worn down the red carpet that catch our attention and stick with us.  One of those was the pale blush-nude stretch beaded gown Geena Davis wore to the Academy Awards about a decade ago. In our opinion, her body did absolute justice to that dress, and she looked incredible in it.  If you think of Geena's light-colored version as the 'nice' gown, then this is the 'naughty' one. Similarly designed, curve-hugging black stretch silk is styled into a bare slip dress, with a stretchy fishnet overlay of tube beads.  The effect is like the shimmery iridescent scales of a mermaid, complete with a fishtail train at the hem. Thin duo spaghetti straps come off the collarbone in front, and over the shoulder to almost meet at the center back. Zippered closure in back. Sized for a modern 6, though the fabric has stretch, it's going to work best on measurements no larger than bust 36", waist 27", hip 37".  The length is 60" in front, 65" at the longest point of the 'tail'.  Made by Pamela Dennis, the gown is in mint, unworn condition with original price tag  ($$$$!) from Saks Fifth Avenue. sold
