1970s Luis EstÚvez Black Sequined Gown LBD

It sometimes seems that fashion designers are stereotyped by a single element of their design style - Chanel is the tweedy cardigan ; Pucci is wild prints on silk jersey; Courreges - mod space age shifts. When he began his career in the 1950s, Luis EstÚvez focused on necklines.  Hmm. Well, it makes sense - after all, the neckline is the thing that's closest to your face, so you want one that is going to flatter your lovely visage. This gown has what we think is one of the most flattering necklines to be had - cut high in front, low in back.  Elegant, sexy and subtle. So unexpected in today's 'boobs in your face' bent.  A slender column of black chiffon is embellished with black sequins, dipping to mid-back above a zippered closure. Long slim sleeves have a slight pouf at the shoulder. Fully lined in black chiffon. Bust measures 35", waist 25.5", hip 36", shoulder 14.5"m sleeve 23.5", length 57".  Some minor sequin loss, otherwise in excellent condition. $225
