1980s Ungaro Wool  Knit LBD

Influenced under the tutelage of masters such as Balenciaga and Courreges, Emanuel Ungaro has, over the course of his career, delivered designs as varied as they are are innovative.  Behind every design lies a consistent effort to make a woman look seductive, and even his less sleek and body-hugging designs still maintain that ideal in emphasizing shoulders and hips to create a slim silhouette.  This wool dress does just that with some clever eye-fooling tailoring.  In a curve enhancing mid weight black wool double knit, the line is wedge-shaped with a strong, pleated shoulder tapering to a slim skirt.  An asymmetrical button closure curves very subtly from the left shoulder to the center of the dress at the hip. The neckline has an attached tie, which further draws the eye up toward the face; long sleeves have a gathered triple-buttoned cuff; hidden inseam pockets at the hip all serve to create a very sensual and flattering line, which is just the way Ungaro intended.  Designed for his Parallèle collection, the dress is unlined and in excellent condition. Bust 38", hip 38", hem 33", shoulder 15", sleeve 24", length 42". $225
