1950s Black Silk Shantung Dress

There is nothing like a little black dress in a crisp silk shantung to make the right impression for almost any occasion.  This particular version has nice details like a faux button front with oversized silk thread wrapped buttons and bound buttonholes; a lovely sculpted neckline; a slightly dropped waist with a bow at the small of the back - all of which serve to give this dress (as well as its wearer) an air of quiet feminine elegance, which is all too sadly missing in many modern designs.  A softly rounded raglan shoulder with three-quarter length sleeves (perfect to display your vintage gold charm bracelet at the wrist).  This beauty has a back zip closure and is lined in a fine silk organza. Bust 38", waist 28", hip 36", sleeve (center back to end of sleeve) 25", length 37". The designer's label is missing, but we can tell it was undoubtedly high end. The photos have been lighted very slightly to show detail - the dress is black, black and in excellent condition. $165
