1950s Helen Rose Black Silk Crepe de Chine Dress

Hollywood designer Helen Rose was a fashionable 'Fifties woman's best friend. Her creations were elegant, sophisticated and above all, feminine. Helen adapted many of her film costume designs for ready to wear - effectively allowing thousands of American women to become Elizabeth Taylor in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'', or march down the aisle in a copy of Princess Grace's wedding gown.  This beautiful black silk crepe dress translates to modern day with hardly a stitch in time, and has a 'Helen of Troy' vibe find demurely appealing.  the front of the dress has a criss-crossed waist that ties at the back, and the bodice has an extended sleeve which balances the straight skirt.  Back zipper closure and fully lined in china silk.  Bust 36", waist 30", Hip 38", Length 40". There is a faint water spot on the front of the dress below the knee, otherwise, in excellent condition.  $275
