1970s Satin Trimmed Purple Tux/Dinner Jacket

Growing up in the sticks, though not quite hillbillies, the guys in our high school had fashion tastes that ran more towards Wranglers and Stetsons, with the occasional surfer-dude-wannabe-wearing-a-puka-shell-necklace thrown into the mix. But this is just the sort of thing most guys from the 1970s - cowboy, surfer or disco king - donned when it came time for the 'Big Date' be it a prom or wedding. Purple and black jacquard fabric is cut in a single button dinner jacket with black satin peaked lapels and sleeve cuffs. It has an 11" center back vent, and is lined in black crepe. The welted chest pocket and welted hip pockets with flaps are all still basted closed. Made by After Six Formals, it's Lounge Lizard as all get out, and so cool with jeans and a tuxedo shirt like our Loris Azzaro or Christian Dior versions. Chest/hip 34", shoulder 16", sleeve 23", length 27". Labeled a vintage size 34. Excellent condition. $125
