1940s Plaid Swing Suit

You have to scrutinize this suit very closely to see the subtle difference in the weave of the coat and the skirt (last photo). The swing style jacket is a gorgeous plaid herringbone weave in heathered orange and lavender (which appears peachy- pink at a distance) and black.  It features a high collar inset with black velvet, a three button front closure that terminates at the midriff, oversized patch pockets at the hip, a padded shoulder and a turned back cuff. Fully lined in black satin. The skirt is a solid black herringbone weave that is slightly larger in scale than that of the jacket, and appears to have been custom tailored to coordinate with the jacket. Box pleated at the front, it has an off center zipper closure in the back, a narrow waistband with a hook and eye closure, and is fully lined in black crepe. Bust 42", hip 45",shoulder 16", sleeve 25", length 29". Skirt waist measures 26.5", hip 36", length 27". Excellent condition. $285
